Dinner Party

I decided to paint a sketch I did a few weeks ago. Click on the image for a larger version. I had thought I might colour it, but I think I like it black and white. Or maybe I just like it black and white because I know I should probably work on some other projects today.

Apparently Fablewood will be out in comic stores very soon, if not now. Exciting!

I love the forms and shapes that make each character unique. Maybe the addition of a single color (like red) could be cool, though it looks amazing just the way it is.

Uhm...their expression makes me imagine an elegant and formal and boooring dinner...so black and white is perfect for this situation, I think! Very beautiful, Sarah.

This picture is great. The attitudes have all the makings of a murder mystery. The dinner conversations would be a mix of vacuous and insincere flattery, peppered with poorly disguised, yet searing metaphors.

I love this picture. The only thing better would be if I could put the faces of several people I know in it. (lol)

Beautiful.

This is just wonderful. I love the lighting and contrast... and the blond girl's pretty hot too. This is perfect, Sarah... everything about it.

I think you are right, b+w all the way with this one. Colour might even weaken it. Beautiful!!

I agree. I think color would weaken the atmosphere. Actually, I think the black and white gives it the feel of a "period piece."

It never ceases to amaze me how good you are at character design. I love how soft the light is on the characters, without looking smooshy. Great stuff.
